After a year in London, we are having are hard time adjusting to the hot and humid weather of Singapore! Perhaps some pictures of ice and snow might cool us down a little mentally… The above was taken at the Gullfoss waterfall (otherwise known as the Golden waterfall) in Iceland during our visit earlier in the year. Together with Þingvellir and the geysers of Haukadalur, Gullfoss forms the Golden Circle, a popular day tour for tourists in Iceland.

From our visit to search for bluebells at Pamphill Green… Photoshop effect? Think again! All I did with the camera was to pan it down quickly after I pressed the shutter. I love the effect I managed to achieve without Photoshop

For the past year, I have had the UK countryside literally at my doorstep for my breaks from work. I am going to miss these travel breaks now that I am back home in Singapore Still, at least I have had at least a year’s worth of photography that will help me cherish these wonderful memories in years to come.

The above was taken during our visit to the Snowdonia National Park in Wales in late March this year. The nice thing about Llynnau Mymbyr is its easy accessibility; unlike many landscape locations, I barely had to walk far away from my rental car (parked by the roadside) to take this shot.

We have experienced the most bizarre weather in our one-year’s stay in the UK, from the hottest September since 1895 to the wettest April on record. The above was taken after a hail shower after a sunny morning in York a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully for the stall owner, the art pieces were laminated and waterproof!

We stayed at a very nice five-star bed and breakfast in Dinnington in rural South Yorkshire on our last visit to the Peak District area in November last year. We loved the B&B so much that we decided to bring my brother-in-law and his girlfriend there on their recent trip to the UK. The fields in the area were blooming with rapeseed flowers which made an impressive sight. I decided to sneak out earlier on our last day at the B&B prior to breakfast to catch a picture of the rapeseed fields when I was greeted additionally with an equally stunning display of clouds in the sky!
