Early Catch In The Morning Mist

The above is another picture that I made an enlargement print of in preparation for an overseas exhibition I am taking part with my dad in Romania later this year. This was featured in my old photoblog more than a year ago on 25 Apr 2004:

This morning, I made a return visit to this spot in Mandai, Singapore where I took Gone Fishing a year ago. This time round, there were not one, but two (!) anglers trying out for their first catch of the day in the morning mist. Of course, they ended up as my catches of the morning where photography was concerned! Exposure was tricky definitely given the large difference in exposure between the dark and light areas of the shot. I like the mood of the morning mist contrasting with the strong silhouettes of the men.

Exposure information: Camera – Canon EOS 300D Digital, ISO – 200, Exposure time – 1/125 sec, Aperture – f/13.0, Flash – off, Focal Length 90mm, Lens – Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, Exposure Program – Manual, Metering Mode – Center Weighted, Auto Focus Mode – AI Focus
