Pac Man Level 10

A browse through my old photoblog revealed this picture and a humourous comment by a visitor…

This picture was taken some time ago in December 2003 at the Botanical Gardens in Singapore. The arrangement of the lily pads at the Floral Clock pond seemed almost artificial. The dragonfly (can you see it amongst the lily pads?) added a touch of life to the scene. The pond looks so green because it just looked so although using a circular polarizing filter did help a bit! At that point when I posted the picture, I couldn’t really think of a good title for the shot except for a pathetically weak “9 leaf pads, 3 buds, but one dragonfly”. Someone suggested an amusing but apt “Pac Man Level 10” instead. Dedicated to all the video-game lovers out there 😉

  1. Yeah, it doesn’t look like they were placed. It’s amazing how nature can do that. This is a beautiful shot and I can see why you got a lot of comments on it before. I love the new title too. Catchy!

I found the dragon fly but took me awhile. It’s cool how still surreal that whole picture looks. Nice job!

  2. Hiya, I just came back from a jog in Botanical Gardens and really liked the Lily pond. WAs curious and came home, typed in the word heh heh and came across your website! 🙂 Pacman is a really apt title ^_^v

I’m also an ex-RJ gal (tho from SCGS) and my brother in law is also a surgeon (but in urology) Maybe you guys might know each other…but he is only a few years older than you. ^_^

I’m going to take my camera there the next time. Since coming back from overseas I didn’t spend much time in Botanical Gardens. I can’t wait for the whole place to be up and ready 🙂

  3. oh yeah…my brother in law used to be in spore photographic society, or a soc. like that….he’s a very good photographer too ^_^
