Liquid Gold

Liquid Gold
I had my gear all packed for a visit to the new Marina Barrage last weekend for some photography but was disappointed by foul weather. Back home, I decided to try some abstract photography with rain water droplets on a window pane. I initially attempted to recreate this picture that I did a couple of years ago. Ultimately, I was more happy with this particular shot with a different view. The colours presented are as they are: the golden glow came from the street lamps along the expressway outside.

  1. Very nice! Did you use any filters/reflectors? I’m amazed that the water droplets look more like liquid gold/metal rather than see-through. Shame about the dirty water stains on the glass though.

  2. Hi Hong Yee! Thanks for dropping by. Nope, I didn’t have to use any filters/reflectors. I think the reason why the liquid droplets looked that way was because of the rows of streetlamps along the expressway outside 🙂 The glow from the sodium vapour lamps did the trick! I actually thought that the water stains added additional contrast/textures to the beads of “liquid gold” really 🙂
