Sunrise Catch

It has been a while since I really went out early taking photos in Singapore. Being a day-off for me today, I woke up real early before 6am, took a quick look at the sky (which looked pretty clear then) and went out picture-hunting at Changi Beach. Alas, low-lying clouds near the horizon obscured what might have been a beautiful sunrise. I am thankful that I managed to find a suitable subject in this boy, who was fishing in the early morning light.

Barricades

An image from the archives… Making the mundane/routine look unusual is one of the joys I find with photography. The above shot of lines and patterns was taken at a jetty by Sembawang Park in Singapore in 2003. I love the strong lines of the jetty contrasting with the patterns of the barricades and their shadows, lit dramatically by the strong morning sun.
