Waiting To Dine

Waiting To Dine
This was taken while we were waiting for dinner to be served at Hard Rock Cafe, Edinburgh. The beads of condensation on my glass of water and the laid-out cutlery formed interesting reflection patterns on the glossy surface of the dining table. The handy G10 came in useful for this particular picture — all I had to do was to lay it on the table with the self-timer set, and shoot… all without having to use a tripod 🙂

Liquid Gold

Liquid Gold
I had my gear all packed for a visit to the new Marina Barrage last weekend for some photography but was disappointed by foul weather. Back home, I decided to try some abstract photography with rain water droplets on a window pane. I initially attempted to recreate this picture that I did a couple of years ago. Ultimately, I was more happy with this particular shot with a different view. The colours presented are as they are: the golden glow came from the street lamps along the expressway outside.

步步高升

步步高升
It has become customary for me to post a flower picture almost every Chinese New Year… I am a little late with this year’s post (my parents didn’t buy any photogenic blooms for the New Year this time around :P). Here’s making up with a picture that I took during my visit to Loch Tummel last year. To those who can’t read Chinese, the title means literally to “rise (to greater aspirations) with every step”… In other words, may you reach greater heights in whatever you do in the New Year. 新年快乐!(Happy New Year)
