T Rex

T Rex
I was wondering what title to give this shot (from the Botanical Gardens in Singapore) when CY remarked how much it reminded her of a tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur. Hence the unusual title 🙂

It has been a while since I made a trip to our Botanical Gardens in Singapore. The place is chockful of opportunities for macro photography and this was the place I decided to head for when I finally laid my hands on something that I have always been yearning for: a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro lens 🙂 Dad spotted this flower of the (“mouthfully-long”) Scaphochlamys oculata, a type of ginger native to Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia. We were attracted by the patterns and colours of the flower petals. This is one of the shots that I like (out of a few actually, the rest of which I will post up in due time) 😀
