“Where’s a free cab when you need one?”

I caught the above scene while touring the backstreets in the Central District in Hong Kong. I am not entirely sure why this particular street is full of the trademark red-and-white Hong Kong cabs; perhaps they are all queuing up to catch a fare someplace nearby. I thought initially that the long line of taxis along with the dramatic lighting made an interesting picture already, until this man pushing his cart of goods came coming down the slope. To me, it seemed as if he was unhappy that he was unable to find a cab willing to take him (although I think he wasn’t actually looking for a ride in the first place!).

City Of Lights

Hong Kong is world-reknowned for its night scenery, especially when caught from Victoria Peak. This view was taken from The Peak Tower. A sign there proclaimed that tripod photography was disallowed unless a valid permit was obtained. However, there were so many tourists there disregarding the order and using tripods for their photography that I eventually used mine too, without a permit! The security guard up there hardly bat an eyelid :p
