Orange Fizz

Orange Fizz
The idea for this came from a photography magazine I read sometime back. Having a bit of spare time today on a public holiday (and with no where to go due to the recent spate of rainy weather in Singapore), I set this scene up in my balcony using a glass of sparkling water, a slice of orange as well as some blue construction paper. The final saturation and contrast has been boosted up by a fair bit to get the punchy results I wanted.

Tunnel Vision
A different version of the spiral staircase that I took at the Chinese Gardens…

Normally, I wouldn’t have expected the perfect subject to crop along that easily when composing shots such as this one. Guess I was a little lucky that day when this boy decided to take a peek right back at me with his digital camera (somemore, dressed in attention-grabbing red!).

You Light Up My Life

You Light Up My Life
A very occasional portrait of photoblog-shy CY 🙂 …

This was taken during the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations at the Chinese Gardens in Singapore. When CY lit up her lantern, I was reminded of a shot which dad took of me and my brother peering into our lanterns ages ago when we were kids visiting the same place. I like the warm glow from the lantern that lit up CY’s face in the picture. Fill-flash (with a diffuser) was used to achieve the final lighting effect.
