\nI first dabbled in “mirror-less” cameras during my one-year stint in the United Kingdom when I was forced to leave behind my DSLR and lenses due to lack of luggage space. The Micro Four-Thirds (m43)<\/a> system of choice for me then was the Panasonic Lumix G3<\/a>, which offered me handling that was similar to the DSLRs I was used to, but without the bulk and weight. Since then, m43 cameras and lenses have advanced even further. In fact, “mirror-less” cameras are increasingly becoming the choice of even professional photographers as improvements have meant that the difference in image quality, although still present, has become less critical. The trade-off in image quality is offset by massive weight reduction — the cameras and lenses are much more compact and lightweight. I have just re-entered the world of m43 photography via the Panasonic Lumix GX7<\/a>, which offers me good image quality through a compact body with a form factor that is reminiscent of rangefinder systems.
