The opening ceremonies of Singapore Youth Festival, a full stadium-sized ceremony with marching contingents by the uniformed groups and mass display segments was a colourful event for photography. I captured this image at our National Stadium in the seventies from a vantage angle. Apparently, the event was a grandiose affair.

Those were the days along Boat Quay at Singapore River. Obviously, I was attracted by the pattern of the boat from a vantage angle. Since 1987, Singapore river cruise has become one of the tourist attractions. (Image no.24 in my series of “Down The Memory Lane…….Singapore In The Seventies…”)
Chingay Parade in the eighties was at Orchard Road. For me, the location was just within a stone’s throw of my home. It was an event free for all to celebrate Chinese New Year. Thirty years has gone by. When I found this image in my collections recently, actually I love the light and shadow and the colourful impact of the image.
