Hundreds of image of Tarian Sanghyang Jaran, have been captured by photographers. The popularity of photographing this event, perhaps is due to its difficulty of capturing the right moment of the boy riding the Kuda Lumping in and around a fire. The excitement of having a good image usually is a challenge for photographers.My recent experience of this sacred Balinese dance was an event arranged for the Annual Meeting of the Nusantara Photo Club in Bali.
My last Makepung Bull Race session was in 2007. This year’s event held in Negara (14 September 2014), was one of the programs of the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Nusantara Photo Club in Bali. Negara is famous for its thrilling water buffalo races (Makepung), introduced by Madurese migrants to celebrate the end of the rice harvest. The competitive races take place on erratic tracks outside Negara, beginning about 8:00 am before the heat makes the big bulls sluggish. Mostly locals attend this festive event there’s lots of rooting and cheering, and the betting is frantic. The event is very popular among photographers who like to capture the excitement of the race.
The world’s premier Balloon event, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, was held recently (4-12 Oct.) in Albuquerque. New Mexico, USA.
The early morning launch filled the sky with colourful balloons. Imagine if all the five hundreds balloons are launch at the same time, the sky will be too congested. As seen here, one of the groups has already successful launched on the first day of the event. It is one of the most spectacular events that not to be missed if you are a hot air balloon lover.
