In order to break away from the recent posting of scenic landscape, I would like to share with you a number of images that captured by me in Singapore during the last few years. This particular image was one of the two images that I put up during the Singapore Art Show 2007 at Singapore Art Museum. This image has been used as “Singapore Today” postage Stamp in celebrating of the 2008 Singapore National Day.
For the time being, please continue to enjoy Eng Loy’s images of New Zealand.

National Day Celebrations

Singapore just celebrated her 40th National Day on 9th Aug 2005. During this period, buildings in our city are always well-decorated with national flags. This was an image that I captured in 1996. One of the well-decorated buildings then was the Cockpit Hotel. This picture is of historical value because the Hotel has since been demolished. In its place, high-rise residential building is currently undergoing construction.

Hear the Bird Sings

One of the hobbies that Singaporean enjoys is hearing the birds sing especially during the weekends. The gathering provides good opportunity for photojournalism. This image was captured in 1996 when I was involved with the publication of “Singapore Today”. A similar one was printed in the ST. I like the expressions of the people, and the natural setting of the picture. I think the story content is essential for this kind of picture. Unfortunately due to renovation of the buildings in the backdrop, this group of people does not have the session here anymore. Your critiques and comments are much appreciated.
