Barong Dance At Tanah Lot

Barong dance is a traditional Balinese and Javanese dance from Bali and Java. Barong is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali.

This troupe is a special arrangement for the Nusantara Photo Club Annual Meeting in 2014. Instead of photographing a close view of the troupe, I captured the environment of Tanah Lot to enhance the image of the performing troupe. My perception of pleasing blue and green environment with the attractive reflection of cloud in the water area were my concept of capturing the image.

A Prayer Procession

In 2014, another group of prayers was arranged by Nusantara Photo Club at Lake Tamblingan, Bali, for the annual meeting. Actually such a procession is a traditional practice of prayers with their offering to the god. Usually is a very unique colourful religious event.

A Different Perspective Of Sunrise

27 Aug 2021 morning at the Lower Seletar Reservoir, the rays of rising sun together with its reflection attracted me and initiated my concept of capturing another striking landscape image. From my vantage angle, I decided to utilise the nearer tree truck on the right side to lead the attention to the further left. The warmest touch of morning light on the tree trunk further enhanced the image. The silhouette figure of the seated person added interest to the whole image. I just simply like the tranquil mood of the Reservoir first thing in the morning.
