Low light in the late afternoon is one of my favorite lighting angles for landscape photography. Especially when the light shines through an opening of cloudy sky. Such a situation usually created good contrast for the scene. The overall saturation of image is also intensified by such lighting condition. I think it is essential to use a small aperture to achieve sufficient depth of field for such an image.

Shanghai By Night

Making three trips to Shanghai for photography within a year is a record for me. Partially, I am attracted by the Expo 2010, This image was captured on the 31st Aug 2010 when I began my 2nd trip to Shanghai by joining the SWECP Expo Tour. Those didn’t join this group was really a miss because of the special arrangement we enjoyed (entering the China Pavilion without queuing) with the Expo 2010. Besides that, we also enjoyed capturing the Shanghai night scene. This is one of my favorite among my collections. I love the dramatic sky besides the colourful light. Otherwise, it will be just another ordinary night scene of Shanghai.
The distortions of camera lenses have been corrected by using Lightroom 3 Vertical Correction. Years ago, I have never dream of making such a correction by just few clicking of the mouse. It is really wonderful!
