Rainy Day At Pantai Tanjung Benoa

On the last day of outing in Bali for the Garuda Indonesia International Photo Competition 2010, our members of jury agreed that the event was lacked of opportunity of capturing the best landscape of places we had visited. We all agreed to cancel the shopping trip to Kuta. Instead we have headed the pantai of Tanjung Benoa in search of landscape image. Unfortunately, the rainy weather set in when we arrived at the pantai. In spite of the bad weather, one of our finalists from Hong Kong has managed to capture the Best Landscape Award from this last minute of outing in Bali.

For myself, I am very pleased to have my version of landscape of the pantai. Indeed, the little bird dropped by has added life to this somber scene. The reflective table surface has also provided an interesting foreground for the image.
I think a serious photographer should not store the camera even on a rainy day!

Being my last day (30 10 2010) to Expo 2010, I was greeted with fine weather. Comparing to my first visit in July, under such a bright day light condition with a temperature of 18 degree C was very comfortable to me. The weather in Shanghai is mostly gloomy all year round. No wonder my friend in Shanghai said that I have brought the beautiful sky from home. From the vantage angle, I have managed to capture the statues of the Expo 2010 at gate no. 1 against a back drop of high rise building of Shanghai.

Stilt Fishermen Hut

The stilt fishermen of Waligama, Sri Lanka is an icon for Sri Lanka. The little hut seen here is where the fishermen kept their fishing gears. In the middle of the day, when they are not fishing, they will just wait for the tourist to arrive. If you would like to capture them posting on the stilt, they would expect to be paid.
As reported by the Sri Lanka Internet Newspaper(September,24), heavy rains continued over three days in many areas of Sri Lanka. I was fortunate to have a bright sunny day on September,8 for this image.
