I had an opportunity of staying in Taman Safari, Indonesia for two days and one night. The purpose of being there is to judge the 2006 Borobudur Photographic Competition. The panel of judges were also treated with a special early morning outing before the Taman Safari was opened to the public. I captured this image during the outing. I will share with you in my next few posting with images captured in the park.
This image shows the actual performance of CAKolosal 2006. You may have noted even with ISO 800, I had to use a setting of 1/15 sec. f3.4. The slow shutter speed has given me an opportunity to show the movement of some of the dancers. You may also realise that the most tricky part is to get the correct exposure of the image. To be frank, the event is quite spectacular to watch.
As I mentioned before, CAKolosal was a gathering of 5000 kecak dancers near the Tanah Lot Temple in Bali. To encourage world peace and support Bali Tourism, this record-breaking dance was performed on Friday, September 29th 2006. This image captured the warming up session of CAKolosal before the actual performance. I like the backdrop of the Tanah Lot Temple.
