My last outing in Bali, October 2003 was another successful one (photographically!). Besides photographing other subjects, I came across this interesting image. Cockerels in Bali are reared for cockfight and are considered as precious commodities! Since cockfight was declared illegal, they can now only be seen during the temple festivals. Obviously, this freed one was not one of those that was reared for the cockfight.
Lake Bertugu, Bali still fascinates me even after many visits. My recent trip in October 2003 was of no exception. I love the mood and colours of the morning serenity.
Although it is monotonous, I like the atmospheric environment which is very picturesque. These are horsemen who transport the tourists to the crater of Mount Bromo, East Java, from the hotels. The journey usually starts at 4:00am on the horseback, early in order to catch the glimpse of sunrise. I would like to share with you one of images that I captured during my recent visit. This is a straight forward picture without any manipulations. I think the trickiest part here is to get an accurate exposure.
