Melasti or purification the Pratima (god symbol) and other Hindu Religion symbol at the beach is one of important ceremony in Hindu rituals. This year’s cerebration falls on 9th March to 11th March. Thousands of Hindu gathered at the beach before sunrise to perform this annual ceremony. The purification is by sea water. To me, is ideally to have the gushed in wave as a foreground of the event.
This form of transportation is definitely an offense in Singapore. But I captured this image on a rainy day in Solo, Central Java. How could this dangerous mode of traveling happened on road?
The rain in Solo has created more opportunity for me to capture colourful images from a vantage angle. I could shoot comfortably through the window of Pasar Gede. Solo, Central Java, without getting wet.
Though was raining, the becak rider could not even get a passenger.
