The Nusantara Photo Club outing in 2008 to Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia was two years after the tsunami disaster. Actually I was quite relief when I witnessed a group of fishermen mostly women busy at work. Apparently, they had to earn a living again when the sea returned to normal.
I love the colourful setting of the people at work in this fishing village. The uniqueness of their life style is very interesting. The morning sun enhanced the image further.
A visit to Bulukumba, Tanah Beru, Ujung Pandang, would give you a blink of Phinisi (icon of Indonesia seafaring) under various stages of construction. I think the uniqueness of boat building industry over here is a worthwhile visit for photographer.
Bantimmurung Waterfall was one of the destinations for the finalist of the 2011 Garuda Indonesia International Photo Contest. The waterfall is also known as the “Kingdom of Butterflies”. Unfortunately, there was not many to be seen during our visit. Nevertheless, this location provided good opportunity for capturing images of children having fun at the stunning waterfall.
