Villagers of Sumba

Our main aim of visiting Tambolaka, Sumba, Indonesia, was to capture the Pasolar. Due to the cancellation of our flight from Denpasar, we missed the event. Nevertheless, we had a good time of capturing the heritage of Sumba instead. The primitive life style will definitely diminish with the further development of the place. Perhaps with the black and white creative antique greyscales setting is more suitable for this image. Would show you another colourful image at another posting. The effort of Dr. Edwin Djuanda and Agatha specially arranged this outing is greatly appreciated. Our host, Pak Hengky Mahenu’s hospitality has also made us feel at home.

Best Milk A Mother Could Offer

A visit to the Bedugul’s traditional market of Bali, gave me an opportunity of capturing this image of the cohesion of a family. While the mother has to breast-fed her baby, the father was needed to stand by in case any customer come by to their fruit stall. That shows the partner of the family is needed if you like to ensure the business is successful. This is even true when there are competitors nearby doing the same kind of business. Moreover, the dignity and love of a mother cannot be denied even at a public place. I love the expression of every member in this candid shot. Don’t miss out an image capture by Eng Loy at the same location.
