Embroidery Of Kristsa Village

Kristsa Village is located 9 km to the south of Agios Nikolaus, Crete, Greece, on a 365m altitude, Kritsa is built in a semi-circular shape and consists of 2200 residents. It is one of the oldest villages on Crete and retains even today elements of the Venetian architecture. Kritsa is a traditional village with old houses and narrow streets on the Lassithi (Dikti) mountains. Women of Kritsa were famous for their weaving, lace making and embroidery skills and it is still possible to buy hand made items.

An Installation Art

A simple art creation as one of the display at the art street of George Town, Penang, Malaysia, is an attraction for the art lover. The rusty metal created by oxidation and the extra colour added to the statue may not be the original intention of the art creator. From my vantage angle, the contrast of old buildings with the art display has formed a very interesting image of my choice. This is an image that I came across during my visit to the place in October 2016.
