The original colour transparency was captured at one of the PSA Conventions many years ago. Honestly, I can’t remember what process I did to achieve the end result. I re-scan the trans and improved the brightness and sharpness of the image using photoshop. The digital software could upgrade the quality of analogue copy ended up with amazing result.
The usual approach of capturing the flow of the stream is to set a slow shutter speed when shooting. Ideally, overcast sky with soft lighting is the most suitable condition to capture the image. Other than that, looking for a focus point such as the solid rock is essential for a striking contrast for the image.
Albuquerque hot air balloon festival is always a colourful and exciting event for photography. I finally witnessed the event after I attended the PSA Convention in 2014. The launching of balloons was scheduled in the early morning and the evening. From my vantage angle, I just managed to capture a participant getting ready to launch a huge balloon.
