The popularity of cyclist in our local street reminds me of: in 1978, the Tiananmen Square, Beijing, China, was flooded with cyclists on their morning trip to start a day. I think the air pollutions was from other resources but not from the vehicles. You could hardly come across any private motor vehicles on the street. Though the image was captured 44 years ago on analogue format, the image is still as good as brand new.
Though the population in our country is aging fast, our seniors are mostly health conscious. I was attracted by the pleasing arrangement of the people in exercise at the Lower Seletar Reservoir on 22 10 2022. I was fortunate to have the most colourful senior as my main subject for the image. To capture the decisive moment is utterly important for the visual impact of the image.
In the sixties, this was a popular location to capture an image of a street scene in town. I think it was due to the light and shadow on the wall of the building. I was fortunate to have the trishaw as the main subject at the right spot to enhance the impact of the image.
