Recognise a building structure with its outstanding pattern and design are the prerequisite of a good image in architecture photography. On top of these stated features, colour and lighting condition certainly is another important factor that contributed to a striking image. My perception of the location finally oriented me to capture this image while I was visiting Birmingham in 2015.
Photography is the art of painting with light. The perception of light and shade is the basic principles of capturing a striking image. The store keeper nicely framed by the goods for sale further added interest to the image. Most importantly, the story telling content of the image is till the upmost feature of an outstanding image.
Though this production of jars in Lombok, Indonesia, was a cottage industry , it was a factory that still active in the village during my trip in 2015. I like the natural setting of the environment. Anticipating for the right moment for the villager to collect the items was what I did in capturing the image. The effect of light and shade of the location is an important factor to consider in order to achieve the image with strong visual impact.
