When I came across this image during my last visit at Million Sunflower Garden in Guangzhou, reminded me of my dad had many pigeonholes for pigeon at home.
The pigeonhole and pigeon were no way to be photogenic. Imagine those days, I was surrounded by hundreds of pigeons daily. I could have died of bird flu because of my environment. Instead, I had enjoyed many herbal soup brewed with pigeons during those days.
As a mentor of the 2008 Garuda International Photo Contest outing for the finalist, I captured this image during the trip to Yogyakarta in last August.
Such an image depends very much on composition and colour contrast. Suitable lighting provided sparkle to the whole image. The bird in the cage added life to the picture.
To me this is a common scene but really colourful one in the city of Bandung. The stall keeper in silhouette attracted me to capture this image. Being a Sunday morning, business was apparently lacking. What a best time to relax before the peak hour of noon arrived! The movement of the car included at the edge of the frame on the left indicates this is a busy location along a street of Bandung.
