I think I captured this image of our all girls bagpipers in the sixties at the People’s Association.
The occasion was a Sunday practice for the all girls bagpiper. Apparently, they are the pioneers of our all girls bagpipers.

On 21st July 1964 (51 years ago), I was at the Padang to shoot the Procession Of The Birthday Of The Islamic Prophet Muhammad. In the same afternoon, the 1964 Race Riot broke out at lorong 12, Geylang.
Fortunately, I didn’t follow the procession. Otherwise, I could be one of the victims. As a multiracial Society, I think we all should cherish the racial harmony that we are having at the moment. This is an image in my series of “Down The Memory Lane…….Singapore In The Sixties……..No.22
A view from the side of Horseshoe Canyon could be quite awesome too. Capturing another image from the edge of canyon, proofed to be a view not to be missed when the lighting is just right. Again, the light and shade gave a sufficient depth to the image.
