Gotham Rising
A recent weekend staycation at the Andaz gave me the opportunity to wake up early and explore the area around Bugis. Being a Sunday morning, I was greeted by a relative quietness and peace that you don’t often associate with this part of the city.

I’ve always found this area architecturally rich, with plenty of opportunities to play with patterns, lines and composition. Looking up between the DUO towers, I caught the “Gotham” building in the distance, perfectly lit by the early morning sun.

I like this image particularly for the perspective and the way the morning light falls on the building. Even the contrails in the blue sky seem to add something to the composition.

Quiet Arc

I am pleased to share that Quiet Arc has been selected for the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Creative Eye Group Members’ Digital Exhibition 2025. I have been taking part since 2022 and this year’s submission feels a little different; it is the first without my father’s quiet guidance in the background.

I photographed this scene in 2020 and originally shared it as Right from the Heart, named after its location at The Heart at Marina One. With this new title, Quiet Arc, the image takes on a different tone, though the heart behind it still feels present.

Intricate Intersections of Lines and Curves in the Cloud Forest
The intricate patterns of the intersecting scaffolds and walkways at the Cloud Forest Dome at the Gardens by the Bay make good photography subjects. The trick in getting an interesting photo is to find an unusual composition and perspective. I am pretty happy with the results I got in this final photo, especially with how the human figure silhouettes added a sense of scale and reference.
