The Formula One season for 2008 starts officially this weekend in Melbourne, Australia. In slightly more than half a year, Formula One cars will be whizzing over these bridges (the Esplanade Bridge along the waterfront) at night. I wonder how the roar of the engines will sound underneath the bridges… exhilarating no doubt, I think 😀
The Singapore Flyer finally opened for business at the beginning of this month and has been generating a fair amount of buzz in the news. I visited the Flyer for photography some time back and made a repeat trip earlier this year. The skies were definitely a little bit more promising for photography on my second trip.
I remember an old TV commercial for the United Overseas Bank some time back in which a customer pays for his purchase with his UOB credit card. The storekeeper remarked on seeing the image of the bank on the card: “Oh UOB! Nice Big Bank isn’t it?”
This is a picture of that Nice Big Bank — UOB Plaza houses the headquarters of the Bank as well as major financial corporations such as UBS. What is little known and interesting though is that it also houses a Malay mosque in its basement. More about the UOB Plaza in the Wikipedia…
