Candid, people photography
Buskers make good candid photographic subjects in general. This particular one at Radcliffe Square in Oxford was in the perfect place since the colour of the surrounding walls and environment complimented the warm skin tones of the busker and his blue shirt perfectly. I had to bump up the ISO to 800 to freeze the action as he played on his violin. This created a nice grainy effect which I thought was appropriate for the journalistic mood of the shot.
We have experienced the most bizarre weather in our one-year’s stay in the UK, from the hottest September since 1895 to the wettest April on record. The above was taken after a hail shower after a sunny morning in York a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully for the stall owner, the art pieces were laminated and waterproof!
A break from the recent Icelandic snow pictures… This was taken during our visit to the Gower Peninsula in Wales in late February. I was just about to take a snapshot of CY using the Worm’s Head landmark at Rhossili Bay when these two ladies and their dog decided to seat themselves right in front of us! I have no regrets about that though, for less than a minute after, I was rewarded with this humourous candid scene 😛
