Taken at the same place as this shot… I will soon be making my extended sojourn away from home for the sake of professional/career development. I am wishing that my DSLR kit can travel with me but I am forced to make the difficult decision of leaving it behind for the sake of travel mobility. My Canon G10 and S90 will come along though. Hopefully, the equipment limitation will be a way to squeeze out better photography from me. I hope to get reunited with my DSLR once I get settled down.

This was taken at a market in Ubud, Bali. Interestingly, Balinese women are experts at carrying burden on their heads literally, which is similar to what many African women do. People have speculated on how this culture may have developed. Previous theories have suggested that head-carrying may be beneficial to human posture. Recent research suggests however that the behaviour might cause undue stress and pain on the neck.
