We arrived a little late for the Kecak Dance performance at Uluwatu during our recent trip to Bali. The ushers were kind enough to let us sit right next to the performance area knowing that we wanted to take pictures. This area turned up to be perfect in the end as we could see the activity happening backstage even during the performance. The above candid moment made it worthwhile even if it meant that I did not get a good angle to take pictures of the actual dance performance.

Much of my late-2010 trip to Shanghai was all about attending a work conference. I did manage to squeeze in some candid photography before I headed home. The urban setting in Shanghai lends a different mood to candid shots compared to the more rural surroundings in Bali.

Continuing with the Bali series, this is another candid shot that I caught in the village of Tenganan. Bali was so chock-full of subjects for candid photography. This compensated nicely for the lack of dramatic lighting for landscape photography during our trip.
