Sisterly Affection

Sisters' Affection
We chanced upon a village wedding in Cemoro Lawang after our morning outing at Mount Bromo. The wedding presented itself with numerous photographic opportunities. These two sisters were waiting outside the bridegroom’s house for the wedding procession to take place. Ignoring us nosey photographers altogether, they were seemingly in a world of their own. I love the interesting expressions on their faces.

Gathering The Harvest

Gathering The Harvest
More rustic scenes from my visit to Bromo… Similar to my previous post, this was taken at one of the villages in the Ceromo Lawang area. As we were heading up one of the paths, I caught a glimpse of this villager moving through the crop fields gathering her harvest. I managed to squeeze off a couple of quick shots while she worked. This is my favourite of the few I took. Dad has an alternative version of this with a wider view which I like very much too.

“Now be nice and say you’re sorry!”

"Now be nice and say you're sorry!"
Local Tenggerese tribe members operate the horse rides that take visitors up the slopes of Mount Bromo. There were many of them volunteering to take people on their ascent and descent along the powdery (from volcanic sulphuric ash) slopes of Mount Bromo. They became the main subjects of many of our candid shots :). I like this particular one because it seemed to be telling a story. I am not sure what the actual exact conversation was but I think the above caption seems appropriate 😛
