Rainbow Landing

Rainbow Landing
It has been a while since I updated this photoblog! Most of my photography experiments over the past year have been with family portraits using strobes which for privacy reasons, I will not be sharing here. Nevertheless, I have been continuing to take other pictures, frequently using the camera that I have handy with me, which will invariably turn out to be my mobile phone. The above is one of these shots I caught right after a evening storm, just before the sun was about to set.

Nature’s Canvas by The Beach

Nature's Canvas By The Beach
Our first trip out of the country since the pandemic! We made our way to Desaru Beach by the east coast of the Malaysian Peninsula for a short holiday trip for the children during their short one-week school break. Given the prime spot to catch sunrise, we woke up early only to be disappointed because of the cloudy horizon. Nevertheless, as the sun rose, we found interesting erosion patterns on the sandy beach, which coupled with the sea waves and the reflection of the early morning sun within, made an interesting picture of patterns, shapes and colour.

Sakura 2023

Sakura 2023
Another visit to Gardens by the Bay… this time for the sakura display. Sakuras are never easy to photograph — from far you will need a good landscape background free from clutter (impossible to do so at the Gardens). I find that close-up macros work better… time to put the macro lenses with creamy bokeh to good use!
