An image from a much earlier trip to Derwent Water taken last year in September 2009. I think photographers are fascinated by shape and form painted by light and shadow. Row boats happen to be one of those that provides interesting shapes when viewed from unusual angles.
How can I tell that the dreaded seasonal haze (caused by man-made “agricultural” fires in neighbouring Indonesia) has returned? Answer: When the sun starts looking like a big orange egg-yolk even at such a distance above the horizon. Taken at the Merlion Park overlooking the Singapore Flyer.
