The Skies Are Dancing Over Coniston Water

The Skies Are Dancing Over Coniston Water
This was taken at Coniston Water at the Lake District in Cumbria just over the weekend. The scene reminded me of an even more dramatic skyscape which I took in New Zealand a few years ago. CY has commented that my photography of late has revolved around dramatic skyscapes… maybe the skies in the UK are just a little bit more interesting compared to what we have back home! 😛

A Storm At Southwold That Never Came

A Storm At Southwold That Never Came
We just got back from a short car-trip to East England. Although I was hoping for sunshine, the weather was temperamental throughout, with heavy rain one moment, and bright sunshine the next. The forecast was for thunderstorms when we arrived at Southwold Pier. Dark clouds loomed over the skies when we arrived, but the storms predicted didn’t come fortunately. Instead, I was given the opportunity to squeeze off a few shots with dramatic lighting. CY initially thought that I photoshopped in the skies on this one, but they were dramatic enough even before I post-processed the final shot that you see above (see the orginal, unprocessed shot for comparison).
