Frozen In Time
One of the satisfactions that I get from photography is when I am successful in making the seemingly mundane look interesting. I am glad to come across this essay on the web today which shares a similar opinion. The idea of creating something interesting from the mundane was also what I had in mind when I captured this shot almost 2 years ago during my trip to Switzerland. Hope that I’m successful here 😛 The ice must have been frozen for ages on the Alps. The thought of actually seeing water that has been frozen for what might have been millennia was certainly mind-boggling.

CY and me took up recreational biking about a month ago. Having not ridden a bike since I was 8 years-old, it took a short while (about 40 mins) for me to get back up to speed and balance 😛 I decided to bring my bike out early this morning to catch sunrise. Alas, the sun was blocked by clouds when it rose. I did like the mood and lighting though. Having no quick and convenient foreground subject for contrast nearby, I decided to use my bike for such a purpose. Although I took a total of only 2 shots on this short trip, I enjoyed the cool morning air and exercise 🙂

Good Morning @ Lower Seletar Reservoir
The mood at Lower Seletar Reservoir was relatively serene before I took my previous post, but as you can see in the distant background of this shot, dragon boat practice has already begun. I was attracted by the bright colours of the canoe. The vegetation alongside the reservoir provided a nice foreground and framing for the shot.
