A closer look at the dramatic weather in my earlier post, On The Milford Road To Te Anau. I like the details which the my 40D has managed to retain despite the tricky, high-contrast lighting conditions.

It’s no wonder why the Church of the Good Shepherd has been described as New Zealand’s most-often photographed church… Just a short morning around the church was all I needed to capture two dramatic shots one of which I posted here previously, and the current one above. Post-processing with curves and saturation has been done to bring out the contrast and dramatic lighting of the scene.

It was amazing how the clouds parted and regrouped so quickly during our visit to New Zealand. This dramatic cloud pattern shot was taken right before I took this shot. For this particular picture, I tilted the camera more skywards to emphasize the pattern of the parting clouds.
