Landscape Pictures
We travelled early on our way to Milford Sound as we had to arrive there by noon to catch our cruise (and also because we knew that we would be making lots of scenic stops along the way!). The 119km road trip takes about 2 hours to travel although by our estimates, we took at least 4 hours 😛 The above scene is one of the reasons why 😀 I can’t recall the exact name of this view point along Milford Road although many other drivers decided to make this their scenic stop too.
One of my favourite shots from my trip to Western Australia in 2003 was a picture of a mother and child strolling by Busselton jetty. Little did I realize how similar in subject matter this particular shot at Jack’s Bay (along the Caitlin Coast of New Zealand) was until I started to post this blog entry. We were actually heading towards Jack’s Blowhole but took a wrong turn. Fortunately, the wrong turn led to a high vantage point which came in perfect for this picture! 🙂
The rainbow from my previous post at Lake Tekapo lingered on for quite a while, giving me wonderful opportunities to play around with landscape compositions. This is another of my efforts: for this particular one, I decided to use the pink Russell Lupins as a foreground in contrast to the dramatic lighting of dawn at the lake.
