Buongiorno, Campo dei Miracoli!

Buongiorno, Campo dei Miracoli!
Taken during my honeymoon visit to Switzerland and Italy…

The title means “Good morning, Campo dei Miracoli!”. From the Wikipedia:

The Campo dei Miracoli (“Field of Miracles”) is a wide, walled area at the heart of the city of Pisa, Tuscany, Italy (43°43′24″N, 10°23′43″E), recognized as one of the main centers for medieval art in the world. Partly paved and partly grassed, it is dominated by four great religious edifices: the Duomo, the Leaning Tower (the cathedral’s campanile), the Baptistery and the Camposanto. It is otherwise known as Piazza del Duomo (“Cathedral Square”).

I was lucky to capture this scene in dramatic lighting right in the morning when we arrived. Our tour guide did us a great favour by having us arrive early, right before the usual horde of tourists descended upon the area. Hence, a picture that is thankfully spared from tourist clutter 😛

More glacier/alpine scenery from my honeymoon trip…

The above shot was also taken through glass during my lunch break on Jungfraujoch. Given the freezing cold temperatures outside, I was lucky to have caught this from the comfort of the cafe while having a hot meal of sausages and pasta :P. I am happy not to have caught any reflections off the glass. The glass hasn’t really affected the sharpness much too (thankfully).
