Nostril Art

Mother Nature sure has her unique way of sculpturing the Earth. I wonder what was in her mind when she decided to sculpt this pair of nostril-like depressions in the Savana hills in the Tenggar Caldera? 🙂

Still revolving around the wedding at Ceromo Lawang…
As mentioned, the wedding ceremony was very much a solemn affair. While the rites/prayers were taking place, the groom and bride set solemnly, resplendent in their garb and makeup (is this where George Lucas found his inspiration for the costumes/design for Queen Amidala in Star Wars? ;)). I wonder what the couple was thinking then. For the boy, one thing seemed obvious: he probably couldn’t wait for the whole ceremony to be over and for the feasting to begin! 😛

While waiting for the wedding procession to begin at Ceromo Lawang, we spotted this villager putting out her laundry to dry. When we approached her to take pictures, she posed obligingly for us. I liked the colours and lighting that has been brought out due to the contrast with a subdued background.
