This was taken earlier this year in Bristol during summer. Sixty one gorilla sculptures had appeared all over the streets and parks of Bristol in celebration of the Bristol Zoo’s 175th anniversary. These were auctioned off at the end of the campaign for charity. Signs were placed around the sculptures asking the public not to climb onto them. These did not prevent these kids from having a monkey of a time on them.
This was taken during our visit to Cornwall earlier at Land’s End. The unusually balanced rock on a distant cliff (with what seemed to be like a human figure sitting under it) first caught my attention. I deliberately included the silhouette of a distant passing ship to balance the final composition.
The Queen’s Guards (or British Royal Guards) remind me of toy soldiers that we used to read about in children’s books. I like the bright colours of their uniform compared to the camouflage fatigues of modern day soldiers. Taken during our recent visit to Windsor…
