Waiting For A Ride To School

Waiting For A Ride To School
I remember seeing a boy walking to school on my way to Lake Batur during my trip to Bali in 2010. The same boy was still walking on the road to school when we made our way back from the lake after two hours of photography! I think we should consider ourselves lucky in Singapore where relatively cheap and accessible public transport is considered a basic right. These two girls were a little luckier compared to the boy we saw last year — at least they managed to hitch a ride to school shortly after this picture was taken 🙂

Panorama of Art & Science

Panorama of Art & Science
*begin rant* Why in the world did they name the art & science museum at the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort as the Artscience Museum? I wonder what kind of impression the name will have on tourists. The person who thought of the name might have thought the idea innovative but it suggests to me that Singaporeans do not know how to spell! *end rant*

Spelling (or misspelling) aside, the area is good for architectural photography, especially when the buildings are taken up close with a wide-angle lens!

Padi In The Wind

Padi In The Wind
It was rather windy when we arrived at the terrace fields at Jatiluwih, Bali. We decided to use the wind to our advantage: mounting our cameras on our tripods, we composed our shots and set a relatively low shutter speed. The results is what you see above: static lines from the terrace fields interspersed with the motion-blur effect of the wind-blown rice-padi.
