Gingerly Close

Gingerly Close
It has been a while since I made a trip to our Botanical Gardens in Singapore. The place is chockful of opportunities for macro photography and this was the place I decided to head for when I finally laid my hands on something that I have always been yearning for: a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro lens 🙂 Dad spotted this flower of the (“mouthfully-long”) Scaphochlamys oculata, a type of ginger native to Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia. We were attracted by the patterns and colours of the flower petals. This is one of the shots that I like (out of a few actually, the rest of which I will post up in due time) 😀

Within The Distortion Zone

Within The Distortion Zone
A break from the recent fireworks shots (although I have got at least a couple more new ones from last weekend to post up)… I picked up these reflections along a building in Manchester while we were walking towards Old Trafford on a tour to Manchester United soccer stadium. I have deliberately kept the road sign towards the right of the frame to distinguish what is within and without the “zone”.
