I explored the fountains at the front of the Esplanade – Theatres On The Bay for photos on a previous visit. While the reflections appeared promising, the dull weather then did not contribute to getting good pictures. On my return trip over last weekend, the skies were smiling a brilliant blue allowing me the chance to capture the towering reflection of Southeast Asia’s tallest hotel, Swissotel The Stamford.
The buildings surrounding the Esplanade/Marina Bay waterfront in Singapore will become even hotter properties come September this year when Formula 1 makes its debut in Singapore as the first ever race in the world to be run at night. I caught this photo during my visit to the area last weekend. I like the warm golden glow and brilliant lighting illuminating the buildings.
We tried our luck a second time at the Esplanade waterfront this morning after experiencing good lighting yesterday (despite the foreboding gloomy skies initially). This time round, we focused our efforts at the Merlion Park. A dramatic sunrise and beautiful skies awaited us when we arrived at the Merlion, which is shown here overlooking the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort construction site. I wonder whether if we will still be able to capture such a sunrise shot when the resort opens in 2009.
