Twilight At The Esplanade

Twilight At The Esplanade
I brought CY to the Esplanade for dinner to celebrate her birthday yesterday evening. We were early for our dinner appointment and decided to explore the roof-top terrace area. Brilliant twilight greeted us. I originally wanted to bring along a tripod but this was not convenient to carry around, not at dinner time especially! Thankfully, I was able to hand-hold the camera steadily enough. The final shot was composited and digitally blended from two different RAW processes of the same file — one for the highlights and one for the shadows. I like the final effect I managed to achieve.

While waiting for CY outside the toilet after the end of the Mega Combat session in Suntec City, I chanced upon these steps and lighted fountain. I was tempted to set up a tripod to get a steady shot but the time did not permit that. In the end, I made do with a reasonably sharp handheld one. I like the lines, patterns, lighting and colour of the final shot 🙂

Speeding Cabs

Speeding Cabs
The weather took a sudden change while we were out on our last outing. Taking cover at a nearby overhead-bridge, Dad found something interesting to occupy our time 🙂 I had fun taking these traffic-shots (some drivers actually slowed their vehicles thinking that we might be speed-catching cops) while we were trapped by the rain. There is definitely a lot more potential at this particular place for long exposure photography. I will definitely be revisting!
