An old image from the past, taken with my Powershot G3…

Just what do these colourful tanks contain? I caught them sitting pretty on the back of a fishing boat while on a visit to Changi Jetty more than a year ago. I suspect that they contain fresh water supplies for the offshore islands of Singapore.

Life Is But A Walking Shadow


“Life Is But A Walking Shadow” … This is actually a quote from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth which one of my old friends would used to quote very often whenever he was in a philosophical mood. This became a theme for some of the silhouette pictures I took with my Powershot G3. This particular one was taken at Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia in September last year. I like the effect of the clean silhouettes juxtaposed against the patterned pavement.

Ceriagrion cerinorubellum


Damselflies have always been good macrophotography subjects for me especially since they can be found in abundance at the Botanical Gardens in Singapore. Alas, the beautiful ponds where this insect can be easily found are undergoing upgrading works at the moment. I took this picture in March earlier this year with a newly acquired macro zoom lens. A reflector was used to provide foreground fill-in to highlight the details within the damselfly.
