Autumn Is Coming

Singapore will never see a true autumn with our climate. The closest we can probably get is to see some of the flowers that are on display currently at the Flower Dome at the Gardens By The Bay 🙂

We had the best of both worlds in many ways on our recent trip to the UK: rural versus urban, landscape versus cityscape sunshine versus rain, work versus leisure… Getting back to some rural shots from that trip… The above scene was taken in the Newlands Valley right outside our bed and breakfast. The weather forecast for that day was for a wet day. That did not stop us from getting out from some photography. Obviously, moody but yet dramatic scenes dominated what we were able to capture. Not that we actually minded, of course! 😛

Another post from the Salford Quays area… Shooting into the sun is never easy with the high contrast involved. For this shot, I decided to make the bright morning sun part of the focus and composition. Using a small aperture helped to create a starburst effect to what would otherwise been a bright over-exposed orb.
