Perching On The Edge OF Broken Leave

The highlighted wings and the resting position of the dragonfly caught my eye at the Lower Seletar Reservoir in the morning of 07 03 2021. The broken leave was another interesting factor that generated my orientation to capture this image. Not to forget the neutral colour of the backdrop to match with whole setting is another important factor for this pleasing image. Simplicity is always my initial observation of organising an image to achieve the maximum visual impact.

Gorgeous Colours Of The Rising Sun

My visualization of vibrant colours on the water was an initial attraction. The fine texture of the ripples further drew my attention. To make full use of the floating boat in silhouette as the main subject of the image was my decision follows. Further restoration of the detail of the inner side of the boat with lightroom added good colour contrast to the whole image. The concept of capturing the image in this manner was orientated after my observation. I just love to have this colourful landscape image captured at the Lower Seletar Reservoir on 27 12 2020.

A Second Before Landing

I like to capture image of dragonfly in action. Orientation of movement after my observation, another image of dragonfly in flight was captured. Fast shuttle speed combined with small aperture setting is a prerequisite for capturing such an image. I prefer to use my long tele-lens and stay sufficient distance away from the subject. Anticipation of the right moment is also important for freezing the decisive moment. This image was captured at the Lower Seletar Reservoir Park on 18 05 2021.
