Aesthetic Pleasure Of Pattern

One of the principles underlying my work is pattern, light and shade. On 17 September 2020, I went back to the Lower Peirce Reservoir for my photographic session. Since I arrived at 6:30 am, I expected the maintenance team of the reservoir as usual would start their boat trip around 7:00 am. In order to capture the pattern of the waves on the water surface, I went back to the higher ground on the slope to wait for the right moment. From my vantage angle, I managed to captured the pattern , light and shade of the waves. Such a phenomenon changes within a split of a second. To freeze the moment and turned into an image with aesthetic pleasure is another challenge for me in photography.

A Perfect Twist

It was not even seven in the early morning of May 18 2021. From my vantage angle, I witnessed this exercise session at the Lower Seletar Reservoir. I love the curve of the railing and the wet floor of the ground. The colour shirt of the person just matched nicely with the colour of the water. The appearance of the cloud reflection further enhanced the image. Most importantly, to capture the peak of the exercise in a split of a second is the decisive moment not to be missed
